We are a honey producer selling the best raw honey, unpasteurized honey and buckwheat honey in Ottawa.

What makes Heavenly Honey different from bulk honey available at the supermarket? It is all natural, uncontaminated by imported honey and is not heated excessively during extraction. This preserves the natural flavours and nutritional benefits of the honey. These unique characteristics of so called "raw" honey contribute immensely when it is used to sweeten a fresh cup of tea!

Heating honey to 160 degrees F destroys its natural enzymes, those that give it character and flavour. Large producers also refine and filter honey, taking out pollen and other materials that not only have flavour, but nutrients. Small artisanal producers such as Heavenly Honey make honeys that are distinctive.

From our hives to your home...

As a family business, in operation for the last twenty years, we know the value of diligence and effort. Thankfully, so do our bees! Because of their industrious labours we can proudly present to you a wide range of quality products.

Making honey is hard work. During the busy summer months, an average hive will contain 30,000 bees - all with specially assigned tasks. Some bees guard the hive, some keep it scrupulously clean and others mate with the queen to ensure the future of the colony.From dawn to dusk, forager bees buzz their way from hive to flowers and back again, carrying their precious load of nectar. They may visit hundreds of sources for the nectar and it is estimated that one teaspoon of honey requires thousands of such field trips.

Back at the hive, special receiving bees take the nectar into their honey stomachs and move up through the hive to deposit their precious load into the wax cells prepared by other bees. Before making her deposit, the bee adds special fluids filled with enzymes to purify and preserve the honey.

We are not responsible for: deliveries damaged from shipping; incomplete or inaccurate delivery addresses; nor recipients not being at the delivery address to receive delivery.
